Presidents Message
The Holiday’s are fast approaching and along with my Presidency, the year will soon draw to an end. It has all been so fast and furious, that I am grateful for the time now to reflect on all that has happened. While the refinance market has changed, rates and resale’s seem to be holding strong as we are all enjoying the opportunity to get re-acquainted with our families and friends.
Looking back on the year, the defeat of SB 344 and the important changes made to the still alive AB 1338 really shows how strong the Escrow Association is. I am proud of the role we all played in making these changes happen.
This year could not have been a success without the EBEA Officers Directors and Committee Chairs of which I had the privilege to work side by side with. Because of their efforts we had Spring in to Escrow and the PD workshop. The speakers and programs were entertaining, educational and well attended. The Mexican 2 Bit Auction and The Hollywood Squares added and little twist and helped with our budget. The EBEA Standing Rules and Bylaws have been reviewed and are in the process of being updated and ebeaescrow.org was born. Our membership has grown to new heights and we made a difference in our local community. We kept our members informed, we sent three assistances to conference and we kept our promise to strengthen our profession.
As an escrow professional, you are to be commended for your dedication and your undying commitment. You stayed informed, you stayed educated and you stayed involved even when there was no time left. Membership is the key to the continued growth of the regional and state associations and I thank you personally for you support this year. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve as your President. This has been a year which has touch my life personally and professionally and is a year which I will never forget.
With much gratitude,
Lisa Lassagne
2003 President
