Remember getting ready for School in the fall?
Like most of us, you probably remember a lot of shopping - for new shoes, clothes, binders, pencils and a new backpack - the list seemed endless. But for children in families struggling to meet life's necessities of food and shelter, back-to-school time can be one of anxiety -- and even embarrassment. You can bring a smile to thousands of children right in our own community by participating in the Back-to-School Drive, ensuring they have the supplies they need to start the year off right!
How the Back-to-School Drive Works
Host companies, groups, organizations or schools display our colorful posters attractively decorated with cards listing needed school supplies. Individuals have two ways to participate: shop for a new backpack and fill it with recommended school supplies or provide funds either by mail, phone, or online and we will purchase the items. We collect and sort the backpacks, and distribute them to low-income students via teachers and social service agencies.

EBEA has registered as a Host and will be donating 50 filled backpacks to The Family Giving Tree in August. We will be passing out individual request cards, which will list the age group
and supplies needed, at the May EBEA General Dinner Meeting or you can contact me direct at lisa@initialhere.com or 925-680-1073 and let me know how many backpack cards you’d like.
All filled backpacks are to be delivered to my office by Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
